SD Team, the UK’s industry leading finishing group, has volunteered its services to support Caldicot Males Voice Choir’s recent refurbishment to their purpose-built hall used for concerts, rehearsal nights and numerous social functions.
The hall, which was opened in 1996 and is located in the heart of Monmouthshire, underwent refurbishment work including a new colour scheme throughout the venue as well as a full bar renovation completed by a team of four of the choristers.
SD Team kindly contributed their time and expertise to the project, by sealing the skirting boards of the hall and bar area to help prevent water and liquid ingress when cleaning.
Leon Jones, a member of Caldicot Male Voice Choir, said: “I approached SD Team with anticipation that my request may fall on deaf ears, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Caldicot Male Voice Choir was very appreciative of the assistance of SD Team, who sealed our floor vinyl and skirting, reducing the ingress of liquids when cleaning our floor. James from the SD sealants team was incredibly professional and an asset to the company.
“As a charity organisation, we have raised many thousands of pounds, both locally and internationally and we pride ourselves in doing this. Being 100% self-funded at times we find it difficult to get support ourselves, whether it be through donations, sponsorship or general help, however SD Sealants came to our rescue with no questions asked. We are truly grateful, this is help in the community at its best.”
Glenn Mitchell, Senior Production Manager for the Sealants side of SD Team, said: “The SD Team was extremely proud to offer our services on a voluntary basis to help support the Caldicot Male Voice Choir. It’s always rewarding to give back to the community and we’re so glad we could play a small part in helping maintain such an important venue.”
