The student accommodation, which is a four-storey building located just off Lawrence Street, near the city centre will cater for over 300 people and will be available for those at both the University of York and York St John University.
What we did
The SD team spent around a year on-site carrying out sealants’ services on behalf of GMI, who are a national award-winning contractor in the UK and have been building for clients for nearly 40 years. The aim was to help GMI achieve their goal of completing the building ahead of the next academic year which starts in September/October 2025.
As part of the work, our fully qualified team applied sealant to the external window frames and expansion joints to help prevent water leaks and improve insulation. As well as this, all the sanitary ware and furniture received internal silicone to seal the gaps between the fixtures and the walls to prevent water from leaking behind or under the fittings.
