The brief
The SD team were tasked with delivering specialist hard surface repairs across the site of a brand new £15m swimming pool complex in Eston, Middlesbrough on behalf of Willmott Dixon for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
This project, operated by Everyone Active, saw the construction of a 25-metre, six-lane pool built with changing areas and a 150-seat spectator gallery. It also included a separate learner pool, welcoming children and young people to learn how to swim.
Why are these repairs important?
During the final stages of construction, small surface defects can sometimes become visible. Resolving these issues before project completion is vital to achieving a high-quality finish and fulfilling client expectations.
Repairing damaged surfaces at this stage also helps maintain the durability and performance of specialist materials, reducing the risk of further deterioration over time.
Carrying out expert surface repairs before handover enables contractors to avoid unnecessary replacements, reduce material waste and deliver the completed facility to an exceptional standard.
The results
The hard surface repairs team undertook tile, window frame, IPS and door repairs, restoring damaged surfaces to a high-quality finish and ensuring consistency throughout the newly completed facility.
