What is a cosmetic repair technician?
A Cosmetic Repair Technician is a specialist who restores damaged surfaces, fixtures, and fittings so they look like new without replacing the entire item. They focus on repairs that are mainly visual, rather than structural, and are often used commercial properties, new housing developments and hotels.
Do you need experience for this role?
Experience in repair or colour-matching is desired, but for entry-level applicants, on-site training is also provided for those looking to begin a career in the cosmetic repairs industry.
This role will particularly suit someone with experience in a similar field involving filling/spraying/colour matching. However, we will still consider your application if you don’t have the experience listed as new recruits receive thorough Surface Repair and Health & Safety training, including onsite shadowing with experienced team members, to equip you with the necessary skills to excel in your new position.
What to expect in the role
Once fully trained, you’ll be carrying out high-quality cosmetic repairs to a wide range of fittings and fixtures. For example, you could be repairing a chipped ceramic sink expertly filling, blending and colour-matching it so the damage becomes virtually invisible.
Full training will be provided, but we’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn. You’ll need to be reliable, trustworthy and confident picking up new skills in a hands-on environment.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive starting salary, along with a company vehicle, fuel card and mobile phone.
What sort of work will I be doing?
You will be involved in fixing chips, dents, and scratches on various hard surfaces, including but not limited to worktops, kitchen units, tiles, baths, shower trays, UPVC, brick, and stone. You will join our team of highly skilled professionals who can perform these repairs onsite, saving our clients time and money as well as avoiding the trouble of finding replacements
