The brief:
Our Hard Surfaces Repair team was subcontracted by Tilbury Douglas to deliver a range of internal and hard surface repairs at Beacon Academy, Cleethorpes.
The new academy is part of the DfE’s School Rebuilding Programme, a decade-long initiative aimed at reconstructing and refurbishing more than 500 schools and sixth-form colleges across the country. This programme is designed to create modern, sustainable learning environments for students and teachers.
Delivered through the DfE’s Framework, the project will feature a new three-storey secondary school building and the refurbishment of an existing block, which will provide classrooms and specialist Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) teaching facilities. The development also includes enhanced parking facilities and new social spaces for students.
Why is this work important?
During new construction projects, surfaces can easily be damaged by tools, materials, and general site activity. Rather than replacing costly items, SD Team’s experts can restore them using specialist repair techniques.

The results:
We undertook a range of general repair and maintenance works, including repairs to IPS panels, doors, desks, window frames and radiators. The works were completed over approximately 19 days and involved restoring damaged fixtures, improving functionality, and enhancing the overall condition and appearance of the facilities.
